Yes, we have many cultural illusions and this discussion brings out many of them. I wonder if our friend Keteh has seen this. And since we've had the Alabama ruling claiming that embryos are people though I think a court has ruled against it. And yes, people are ethnocentric without usually realizing it. A certain part of our worldviews seem to be independent of our socialization, however, shaped by our interactions with people from other cultures. There are commonalities of West African word meanings but also important differences.

I like this dialogical way of getting people to think of our similarities and differences.
